I-DESIGN entered into the field of cryogenics in 2009 through a BRFST (Board of Research in Fusion Science and Technology) project supported by IPR (Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, India). The first task undertaken by us was manufacturing of a prototype cryo shield. Since then there has been no looking back. Today I-DESIGN has surged ahead in manufacturing of cryogenic radiation shields and cryopanels for 80K and 4K applications. Many of our panels are used by ISRO and IPR for their mission critical applications. Each cryopanel at I-DESIGN is meticulously designed for leak tightness, operating pressure, mass flow, surface temperature distribution and extraction of thermal heat load with the given cryo-fluid (LN2, GHe, SCHe etc.). These panels are designed and developed as per I-DESIGN internal standards or as per ASME codes. I-DESIGN has a pool of talented designers and technicians who realize these products with utmost passion and care. Today I-DESIGN is a reputed brand in India for design and manufacturing of cryogenic shields. Our panels are used by our clients for thermovac application, cryostat application, superconductor cooling application, radiation and heat shielding application and for many other scientific applications. Our panels are structurally stable, VUHV leak tight and offer lowest pressure resistance with highest temperature uniformity.

In 2009 I-DESIGN forayed into vacuum technology arena due to its association with Cryogenics products. Since then we have delivered many customized solutions to our clients. Some of them are Design and development of Vacuum chambers, Design and development of Linear rotary feed throughs, various types of flange connection, bayonet couplings, junction boxes, current leads chambers, flexible hose connections, specialized vacuum valves etc. We have been growing rapidly in this field in the last few years with many new projects in the pipeline. We have the necessary infrastructure in place for fabrication of vacuum components like: Vacuum chambers, Cryostats, valves, connectors etc. Our infrastructure includes TIG welding, MIG welding, Copper and Silver brazing, Vacuum brazing, SS to Cu Welding, Electrical resistance welding, laser welding, electropolishing, mass flow leak detection, rotary oil pumps, Turbo molecular Pump, sputter Ion pump, Vacuum gauges etc. We also work in close collaboration with technical institutes and research institute for knowledge up-gradation and collaboration.

I-DESIGN along with its group companies possess very high degree of technical skills in fabrication, precision machining and Inspection. Almost all type of components ranging from metal to elastomers, Ferrous & non ferrous castings to forgings, sheet metals forming to heavy fabrications can be handled by I-DESIGN engineers. We continuously design and prototype various types of parts for Automotive, off highway vehicles, Earth moving Equipments, Agri equipments, railways, cryogenics etc. Most times prototyping is one of the integral activity of a large project that we handle here.

I-DESIGN has got a dedicated team of 30 engineers who are continuously engaged in process design and engineering. They work with multiple design tools such as CATIA, Pro E, Auto CAD, Solid Edge, etc. Their role is to: Designing of optimum manufacturing process Tool and Die designing Jigs and fixture designing Control plan/ process plan preparation Trouble shooting Value engineering Plant layout and process simulation Process automation Layout inspection and process auditing.
