There are two main groups of Chemicals for Boilers to choose from. One chemical group for boilers is for steam boilers and the second is for hot water boilers.

Steam Boiler Chemicals - These include Oxygen Scavengers, Amines, Phosphates, Polymers, and Alkalinity Builders.

Oxygen Scavengers - Most common type is 38%, pH < 4. Other solutions come blended with a cobalt catalyst and alkalinity contributors. These blends are usually 50% dilutions and come in 7 and 10 pH. Using these blends eliminates using an alkalinity source (i.e. eliminates using a separate alkalinity drum).

•Boiler Alkalinity Builders - Potassium Hydroxide or Sodium Hydroxide are the most common boiler alkaline products.. Mostly sold in 25% and 50% in solutions.

•Amines - Neutralizing amines are considered neturalizing chemicals. Cyclohexylamine, Morpholine, and Diethylaminoethanol. These chemicals can be purchased as a single component or in a multi-blend in many dilution ratios.

• Here is a breakdown what you will need to get started : Corrosion and Scale Prevention Chemical - The factors that decide the type of scale or corrosion chemical required is based on your make up water city hardness and alkalinity. Most city locations have mild hardness conditions and neutral pH levels. If this is the case ShriChem 2001 is a good selection for controlling scale and corrosion. If you have hard water, high silica levels you will require a different cooling tower chemical . Cooling Tower Biocide - Cooling water process systems will product on going bacteria such as aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in the form of slime, sludge, algae, and/or Legionella. A good water treatment biocide program will control your bacteria development. Depending how critical your system is you may choose to use one oxidizer chemical or a dual biocide treatment program (non oxidizer and oxidizer chemical). An example of an oxidizer chemical is Concentrated Sodium Hypo Chlorite. A good example of a non-oxidizer is Isothiazolin .Conductivity Controller - We recommend the pre-assembled  ShriChem -2002 Cooling Tower Controller. We are having Algaecide ShriChme – 2003 similarly we are having Descaling Cemicals too. This is an easy to program dual biocide / feed and bleed system. In addition to the controller you will require a blowdown cooling tower valve . We strongly recommend using Stenner Pumps for most cooling tower chemical applications. They prime themselves and are easy to use.
