The technology used – Pressure Swing Absorption
What is PSA?
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is the most commonly used non-cryogenic oxygen & nitrogen production process, the most effective for small and medium capacities. The process operates by using two columns filled with adsorbent, a molecular sieve. Clean & dry compressed air enters the first column, unwanted molecules are being trapped while the product gas is allowed to pass through. When the active column is saturated, the airflow is redirected to the second column. The saturated column depressurizes allowing the molecular sieve to completely regenerate. The process is repeated continuously.

This Portable Concentrator is used as a means of providing continuous oxygen-enriched product gas with a purity of 90%~96%(V/V) for patients, adolescent to geriatric, suffering from health conditions that cause low levels of oxygen in the blood (hypoxemia). This unit is not a life-support device. Geriatric, pediatric, or any other patient unable to communicate discomfort while using this device should receive additional monitoring.
Precise Stable High Oxygen Concentration & Real-Time Monitoring:

Scavenging is the collection and removal of vented anaesthetic gases from the OR. Scavenger and operating room ventilation efficiency are the two most important factors in reduction of waste anaesthetic gases (WAGs).
Amount of anaesthetic gas supplied usually far exceeds the amount necessary for the patient, OR pollution is decreased by scavenging
An effective scavenging system can reduce ambient concentration of waste gases by up to 90%.
The AGSS offered by Unissi complies with HTM 02-01, HTM2022 and either EN ISO 7396-2 or BS 6834. The AGS system shall be a dedicat¬ed, specifically designed active extraction and dispos¬al system for waste anaesthetic gas.
The AGS system use dedicated radial blowers in a simplex or duplex configuration. The AGS pump assemblies shall be skid mounted and included on the skid shall be the simplex or duplex pump(s), motor control unit(s) with starter/ isolator, moisture drain flask and flexible connector(s) to connect the plant to the pipeline. Each pump shall include an electric motor and directly coupled impel¬ler assembly. Impeller bearings in the pump(s) shall not require lubrication. The pump(s) shall be air cooled and rated for continuous operation.

Pressure swing adsorption provides the separation of oxygen or nitrogen from the air without liquefaction. The process operates around ambient temperature; a zeolite (molecular sponge) is exposed to high-pressure air, then the air is released and an adsorbed film of the desired gas is released. The size of the compressor is much reduced over a liquefaction plant, and portable oxygen concentrators are made in this manner to provide oxygen-enriched air for medical purposes. Electrolysis of water:
Electrolysis of water is the process of using electricity to decompose water into oxygen and hydrogen gas by a process called electrolysis. Hydrogen gas released in this way can be used as hydrogen fuel, or remixed with the oxygen to create oxyhydrogen gas, which is used in welding and other applications.
Sometimes called water splitting, electrolysis requires a minimum potential difference of 1.23 volts, though at that voltage external heat is required from the environment.
Overall reaction: H2O(l) → H2(g) + O(g)
The number of hydrogen molecules produced is thus twice the number of oxygen molecules. Assuming equal temperature and pressure for both gases, the produced hydrogen gas has, therefore, twice the volume of the produced oxygen gas. The number of electrons pushed through the water is twice the number of generated hydrogen molecules and four times the number of generated oxygen molecules.
