The technology used – Pressure Swing Absorption

What is PSA?

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is the most commonly used non-cryogenic oxygen & nitrogen production process, the most effective for small and medium capacities. The process operates by using two columns filled with adsorbent, a molecular sieve. Clean & dry compressed air enters the first column, unwanted molecules are being trapped while the product gas is allowed to pass through. When the active column is saturated, the airflow is redirected to the second column. The saturated column depressurizes allowing the molecular sieve to completely regenerate. The process is repeated continuously.

This Portable Concentrator is used as a means of providing continuous oxygen-enriched product gas with a purity of 90%~96%(V/V) for patients, adolescent to geriatric, suffering from health conditions that cause low levels of oxygen in the blood (hypoxemia). This unit is not a life-support device. Geriatric, pediatric, or any other patient unable to communicate discomfort while using this device should receive additional monitoring.

Precise Stable High Oxygen Concentration & Real-Time Monitoring: 

The device can produce oxygen with a purity to be 93%±3%(V/V) (0.5L/min～5L/min). An internal oxygen purity sensor can monitor the oxygen purity in real-time.

Safety Alarm Function: 

Compressor overheats alarm, power failure alarm, and Low oxygen purity alarm make the concentrator safe to use.

Precise Electronic Flow Control: 

The concentrator is equipped with a flow meter, which makes flow control easy and simple.

Multi-Filter Protection:

Sponge Foam Filter, HEPA filter, and internal bacteria filter keep dust and bacteria away and ensure clean oxygen output.

The medical gases alarm panels are designed to remotely monitor the signals of medical gases installations with uninterrupted visual and sound notification capabilities to technical service personnel according to HTM 02-01.

The digital display of line pressure in psig (mm of hg in case of vacuum) with audio visual alarm for high & low pressure.

The entire system is microprocessor based for single gas to four gas systems including vacuum also blinking display for high & low alert. Calibration has been made as per ISO standards.

Scavenging is the collection and removal of vented anaesthetic gases from the OR. Scavenger and operating room ventilation efficiency are the two most important factors in reduction of waste anaesthetic gases (WAGs).

Amount of anaesthetic gas supplied usually far exceeds the amount necessary for the patient, OR pollution is decreased by scavenging

An effective scavenging system can reduce ambient concentration of waste gases by up to 90%.
 

The AGSS offered by Unissi complies with HTM 02-01, HTM2022 and either EN ISO 7396-2 or BS 6834. The AGS system shall be a dedicat¬ed, specifically designed active extraction and dispos¬al system for waste anaesthetic gas.

The AGS system use dedicated radial blowers in a simplex or duplex configuration. The AGS pump assemblies shall be skid mounted and included on the skid shall be the simplex or duplex pump(s), motor control unit(s) with starter/ isolator, moisture drain flask and flexible connector(s) to connect the plant to the pipeline. Each pump shall include an electric motor and directly coupled impel¬ler assembly. Impeller bearings in the pump(s) shall not require lubrication. The pump(s) shall be air cooled and rated for continuous operation.

Unissi is into fine quality durable manufacturing of Bed head units which are popularly used in Hospitals, Nursing homes for variety of functions.

The Bed head units are made of high-quality aluminium extruded profile.

TBed Head unit allows a multi spectral placement of medical gas outlets and low voltage electrical installations. It may also include built in treatment lamp with indirect lighting and nurse call system.

Area Valve Service Unit – The ASVU are fitted to all medical gas and vacuum services in a prominent and accessible position at the entry to wards, theatres, intensive care, recovery rooms, etc. The ASVU panel is conforming to EN ISO 7396-1, HTM 02-01 standards and contains in a metal box shut-off valves, pressure gauges, gas-specific connectors and low-high pressure switches.

Area Valve Service Units are manufactured under ISO standard. They provide a local gas isolation facility for use during normal installation and maintenance or in the event of an emergency. They are built in accordance with the HTM02-01 and are suitable for Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, MA4, MA7, CO2 and Vacuum.

Gas outlets are used in hospitals for supply of various gases such as Oxygen, Vacuum, Nitrous, Co2 , Air (4 & 7 Bar) in the most efficient and fast way using special quick-action connection fittings. Gas outlets are suited for external or internal wall mountings, for bed head units and for ceiling pendant installations.

The Units Comprise of a First Fix, Second Fix and A Second Fix Valve Assembly and Connect Medical Appliances to The Gas Supply System.

Two-part outlets are composed of the base finishing part which complies to the EN ISO 7396-1 2, EN ISO 9170-1 2 standards.

The Gas outlets are Designed to Enable Gas Probes to Be Connected and Disconnected Easily and with Minimal Effort and The Same Time as Giving A Strong, Reliable And Secure Connection. They Are Available for Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, Medical Air, Surgical Air, Medical Vacuum, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Gas Outlets. The Terminal Units Can Be Flexibly Integrated into any type of Installation Including Surface, Flush.

Unissi rotary vane vacuum pump is to meet with NFPA 99 HTM Standards multiple vacuum pumps, receiver tank and control panel.

The medical vacuum system is equipped with 2 to 4 vacuum pumps. The vacuum pump is available in both oil-lubricated and oil-free type. Each pump includes oi level sight glass, anti-suck-back valve filter. System are manufactory in ISO9001 system to ensure high quality. The system are available in two configuration types: vertical tank and horizontal tank mount.

The system is equipped with duplex bacteria filter to ensure the purity of the gas entering the vacuum tank, and is equipped with a lcd control cabinet to control the fully automatic operation of the vacuum pump.

Oxygen Flow meter’s are supplied with probes and only attach to the corresponding medical gas terminal unit, it accurately measures flow at 0-15 Lpm even at variant inlet

Pressures Accuracy is fulfilled within + 10% of scale value or 0.2 LPM which ever (as per ISO 15002) is higher to attain maximum efficiency for patient and environment.

Each flow meter is calibrated at 50 psi inlet pressure

Flow meter also available at a flow rate 0-5 for pediatric Life saver

It is constructed from chromium-plated brass body, inner and external tube in crack resistant polycarbonate and stainless-steel ball.

The humidifier bottles also available with Inlet filter of stainless steel (SS316) wire mesh to prevent entry of foreign particles.

Master Alarm are required for all the medical facilities with medical gas systems. Master alarm monitors the source equipment, Manifold, Compressed air system, Vacuum System. It monitors the Line pressure and has audio and visual alarms.

Gas Alarm also known as Area alarm (Visual and Audio) are for monitoring zones throughout the hospital/ Medical Facility as well required in Critical areas. Area alarms are installed to monitor the pressure within wards / Floors / Critical Areas.

Zonal valve box is used in the medical gas pipeline to allow maintenance of individual zones without disturbing the gas flow to other zones or to stop distribution / supply of gasses to individual zone in case of emergency. The valve box designed are to allow control of up to 6 gasses.

It provides the required suction and the planned flow of medical vacuum for needs of vacuum suction. A very important part is treatment and cleaning of contaminated exhaust air. Therefore, it is necessary to equip each vacuum station in automatic model with perfect antibacterial filter and dirt arrester.

Compressed Air system provides the required pressure and the planned flow of medical compressed air at 4 Bar & 7 Bar. These are stationary units available in several options eg: Oil free , Oil Lubricated , Reciprocating etc

Automatic Manifold system provides continuous gas flow.

Unissi offers Fully automatic control panel as well as Semi-automatic control panel.

The control panel comes with Analog / Digital display to display the pressure of each incoming bank (Right or Left) and mainline gas pressure.

As soon as the gas in one bank runs below the set pressure the control panel it sounds an alarm. The fully automatic control panel switches the bank automatically whereas it is manually changes in case of Semi-Automatic control Panel.

The Display includes LED lights to indicate working conditions and alarms.

The panel comes with Modbus interface for BMS connectivity.

High pressure Booster’s are used for Cylinder refilling at a pressure of 150 to upto 200 Bar. Unissi offers a complete range of cylinder filling station to meet your requirements for cylinder refilling from 10 to 100 D-Type (Jumbo) Cylinders per day.

Compressors have been developed for the exacting requirement of safe, Reliable, Oxygen compression service.

The Booster is designed to be connected to the UNIOX Oxygen generation Plant to manage their peak consumption flow and fill their own cylinders.

Pressure swing adsorption provides the separation of oxygen or nitrogen from the air without liquefaction. The size of the compressor is much reduced over a liquefaction plant, and portable oxygen concentrators are made in this manner to provide oxygen-enriched air for medical purposes. Vacuum swing adsorption is a similar process; the product gas is evolved from the zeolite at sub-atmospheric pressure.

Electrolysis of water:

Electrolysis of water is the process of using electricity to decompose water into oxygen and hydrogen gas by a process called electrolysis. Hydrogen gas released in this way can be used as hydrogen fuel, or remixed with the oxygen to create oxyhydrogen gas, which is used in welding and other applications.

Sometimes called water splitting, electrolysis requires a minimum potential difference of 1.23 volts, though at that voltage external heat is required from the environment.

Overall reaction: H2O(l) → H2(g) + O(g)

The number of hydrogen molecules produced is thus twice the number of oxygen molecules. Assuming equal temperature and pressure for both gases, the produced hydrogen gas has, therefore, twice the volume of the produced oxygen gas. The number of electrons pushed through the water is twice the number of generated hydrogen molecules and four times the number of generated oxygen molecules.

PSA Biogas Upgrading and Purification units are designed for the biomethane generation from biogas.

The pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology employs the basic principle of gas separation at ambient temperatures by using carbon molecular sieve (CMS; a material that adsorbs carbon dioxide to leave a rich stream of biomethane).

UNISSI biogas upgrading plants are based on pressure swing adsorption technology for capacities from about 500 to 5000 Nm³/h.
